According Cherokee County (Alabama) Sheriff Jeff Shaver, an altercation between two brothers, left one man deceased on Tuesday afternoon. The incident occurred inside a vehicle, on Highway 35, near Watson’s Crossroads. The case remains under investigation by Sheriff’s Office investigators, but it appears that the driver of the vehicle was under attack when he shot his brother, 47 year-old Billy Mitchell, of Gaylesville.
The case will be presented to a Cherokee County Grand Jury. The JSU Center For Applied Forensics at Jacksonville State University, the Cherokee County Coroner’s Office and the District Attorney’s Office are assisting in this investigation.
