Johnson wins Fairmount Post 4 runoff election

What had been a close three-way race back on November 3, made for a close two-way runoff election on the first day of December for the Fairmount City Council Post 4 seat.
Billy Mauldin garnered 64 votes to Linda Johnson’s 60 votes back on November 3, but a three-way race required a higher percentage to win outright.  A 57-52 vote came out in Johnson’s favor in the December 1 runoff election.
A turnout of just over 30 percent decided the race.
